Newport, Rhode Island

Newport Point

This 1840s colonial still maintains its historic presence to the streetscape in Newport’s sought-after Point. A lifetime of history on the water became the inspiration for this completely reimagined colonial era home. An open living plan was just the beginning of drawing light to the interior spaces. A seemingly floating (and teak trimmed) open stairway reflects light through three storeys of this nautical home, then leads to a ship’s ladder – connecting the light filled open loft. Strong relationships with local shipyard craftsman brought the finest level of modern detailing to nearly every face of this home. Teak, Mahogany, Caribbean Heart pine and coastal shades bring endless life to this special home.
